In February 1927, T.H. Brown a farmer, businessman and local politician answered an advertisement in the local newspaper from the Peel Maryborough Mutual Insurance Company for an agent to represent the company in the Palmerston area.
His application was accepted by the company and Brown Insurance was established
Today, ninety years later, ownership of the business still remains within the immediate Brown family transitioning to his son William, grandsons Ronald (Skip) and Paul and now his great grandson Jeremy.
From it's early beginnings in the Brown farmhouse with his daughter in law Marlon doing the books, Brown Insurance now operates from offices in Palmerston and Moorefield with a staff of 11 Registered Insurance Brokers
The Brokerage provides a full range of insurance products for auto, home and commercial enterprises but specializes in agriculture and agri business risks.
